1994-1998 Mustang Coupe

1994-1998 Mustang Coupe 1994 was the year for unveiling the much-anticipated redesign and beginning of Ford's fourth major Mustang design. The new look was sportier, had plenty of power and more panache than ever before. Subtle (and not so subtle) design elements harkened back to the first generation Mustang. The familiar running horse graced the front grille. A simulated C scoop was positioned in front of the rear wheel well reminiscent of early Shelbys and 1969 Mustang fastbacks.

The overall success of the Mustang Coupe was great as it had sold a total of 123,198 vehicles, almost 10,000 units more than the previous year. Over the next several years from 1994-1998 the general body style of the Mustang changed little. The grille was slightly revised in 1997, tail lights were changed every year or two. Wheels increased to 17" in 1996 and became polished aluminum standard in 1998. 1995 was the last year of the Windsor-built 5.0. In 1996 the new Mustang power plant was the 4.6 L modular V8. The V6 Mustang Coupe also gained five more horsepower then the previous two years.
