1965 & 1966 Mustang Coupe

The first year of Mustang sales put it at the all time list of fastest selling cars in history. The coupe (or notchback) body style had a lion's share of those sales, with over half a million in the combined 1964-65 year. Then another nearly 500,000 coupes in 1966 further confirmed the Mustang's success.

Exterior paint choices were plenty back in the 60's. If you were willing to wait a few weeks for the car of your dreams you could chose from more than 17 different colors! For 1965 alone the choices were Raven Black, Midnight Turquoise, Honey Gold, Dynasty Green, Caspian Blue, Champagne Beige, Rangoon Red, Poppy Red, Silversmoke Gray, Wimbledon White, Tropical Turquoise, Prairie Bronze, Ivy green, Sunlight Yellow, Vintage Burgundy, Silver Blue and Springtime Yellow. All colors were available on coupes, convertibles or fastbacks.
